starving kitties...

or so you would think... the diet is supposed to be 5/8ths of a cup that is free fed through out the day for kolohe with a 1/4th of wet food mixed with dry for dinner... he is on a special diet for his urinary tract... prada should be getting 1/2 of a cup free fed through out the day, but her food never gets measured out... probably why she looks like a pot belly piglet...

why does it always seem that they are hungry?!? prada is sort of a natural scrounger... eating whatever crumbs she can find... but everytime we get up to go to the kitchen, she runs to the garage door thinking we're going to feed her... she's forever on the counters and in the sink, trying to find food...

kolohe right now is at 14 lbs. and the doctor said that's okay... he could lose a pound or two...

today he was driving me insane... i gave him all of his food and he was still hungry! he was giving me his sad meow, informing me that he was hungry! when he's hungry he really bugs too... he will also give small love bites to let you know how hungry he is... we finally just dumped food in his bowl and he actually ate it all... so today's total was maybe 1 and 1/2 cups... he also had some treats...

dinner time is horrendous too... partly our fault because we'll give small table scraps... they hang around us... little kitty heads pop up at the table... sometimes it's so bad we have to lock them up... usually they get fed the same time we eat dinner so they're not as much as nuisance...

just drives me crazy that the way they act, you'd think they were starving!

I Can Has Swine Flu? A Cat Comes Down with H1N1

i thought i previously read that our beloved pets would be safe from this.... i guess not... kind of scary...

daddy's naughty brat...

also daddy's spoiled brat.... prada is up to her weird antics again... the other day she pooped in the sink... the litter box is cleaned daily... what, does she want us to clean it hourly for her? brat...

she has been daddy's palsy walsy lately... as you may know, she's not really a cuddly kitty for she is still somewhat feral and doesn't like to be touched or held so much... but lately she's been cuddling with daddy... i guess that's when you know that the weather is getting colder... she's looking for heat...

so for the first time she slept in the bed with us... kolohe was mad... he usually sleeps with me and lets me use him as a pillow... prada was right in the middle, hogging the bed and blanket.... so i had the joy of freezing my butt off til about five in the morning when she woke up and left...

she also ate a spider the other day as well...

as i'm pulling my hair out over her, daddy smiles, laughs, and spoils her even more....

happy belated halloween...

got the kitties simple costumes, for this was the first year i dressed up kolohe and the first for prada as with every thing else in her life so far...

kolohe had a bandana with skulls on it... we laughed because you could barely see it on him... he's just too bushy... he was very good about wearing it... didn't mind it at all... well... partially didn't mind... i like the expression on his face... heehee...

prada on the other hand, wasn't too happy... i was surprised that i was able to get on her jester collar in the first place... she ran around all wild and was wrestling with herself, trying to get it off... heehee... it was funny to watch her... she even hid from me when i was trying to get a picture of her... here she is with her "stink eye" stare...
then she got tired of running around for a brief moment, so i took it as a photo op...

national cat day...

happy national cat day! we will be off later to by them gifts... even if the devil doesn't deserve one... i'm sure daddy will beg to differ...

thievin' weasel take 2...

so last night i had a bowl with tostino pizza rolls in it... i didn't finish the last two because they weren't that good... i guess they're only good when you're drunk...

i'm on my laptop and i see ms. prada creep towards the bowl... i kicked at her and told her to get away... she stayed where she was with her eyes fixated on me... i kicked again... next thing you knew, in one quick swoop, she grabbed a pizza roll and was off... brat... my husband laughed and told me it was my own fault because i should know that she is sneaky, has no fear, and doesn't care when i yell at her...

tonight she was on the kitchen counter enjoying some spaghetti sauce off of a ladle... one would think that we were starving her or something....

thievin' weasel...

prada has a new nickname... the thievin' weasel... she has been very sneaky as of late... stealing kolohe's food (even though ol' daddy defends her by saying that kolohe steals her food)... on the kitchen counters and kitchen table...

today was funny though... i was eating cream puffs... the small kind that you defrost and then enjoy... so i ate all but one and left it on the coffee table... i left to go get my son from school... because why would kitties touch a cream puff? came back home... and i noticed the empty bowl... i had to think, did i eat it? or did someone else eat it? when i came in, i did notice her grumbling but i didn't know why and i didn't see her with anything in her mouth.... my son then said that prada was growling in the bathtub and it looked like she had a piece of hot dog bun in her mouth... he got it and low and behold it was a cream puff...

in other kitty news... kolohe barfed like four times today... i hope he has no obstruction... we just came from the vet over the weekend because his allergies are acting up and his back left leg is bruised and irritated looking... he's on antibiotics but i haven't given it to him since he's been puking.... then i also don't know if he's puking because someone named daddy gave them a bunch of chicken last night... so tonight it was a dollop of cottage cheese for dinner in hopes that his stomach will calm down...

my apologies once again for the delay in posts... i have lots of good pictures to put up as well as some videos... and i'm hoping to get that done.... if only facebook games didn't take up so much of my time! heehee...

need an animal sitter?

we always enjoy when we get to babysit for our friends' animals... this past weekend we sat for a little rat terrier/chihuahua mix puppy... her name is dakota... she is a happy go lucky dog... very sweet and very cuddly!

the funny thing was we're not used to small dogs... she was basically the same size as prada and of course kolohe was huge compared to her... so it was also funny that the cats were trying to hide from her all weekend... or stared down at her, perched high above for safety... a few times prada got brave and even chased her around the house... i guess she can handle dogs her size more than big dogs...

another thing we weren't used to was having a puppy.... she chewed on everything! she found things i didn't even knew existed and chewed on them! she totally demolished a pencil.... and found some tie straps that she started chomping on... she even tried to chew the "do not remove" tag off of a blanket! and she also chewed apart her harness! while it was on her! i thought she had caught her teeth on it... but no... she was chewing on it! she wasn't quite house trained either but that was ok... we have cats that cough up hair balls... same kind of clean up...

we took her to the dog park and she had a blast out there... she is quite the people person.... she would just go up to people and randomly jump into their laps... it was kind of embarrassing.... good thing most animal owners are friendly and thought it was cute...

oh... i also forgot to mention that she slipped under our fence while in the backyard and ended up in our neighbor's yard... it was sort of a dilemma because it was early in the morning and we didn't want to disturb the neighbors.... luckily they were awake and we went back there to get her...

yes, it was quite a weekend with such a tiny dog! but she was very sweet... it was hard to stay mad at her=o)

the box kitty...

prada really loves boxes and any small space that she can get into and hide... my son makes tents for her all the time and she actually sleeps in them... she'll even go as far as to protect her sanctuaries from big brother kolohe.... she'll swat at him when he comes to check out her property...

before we get to the box pictures, prada has been her usual self... on the counter, finding crumbs... we were letting her into our bedroom for a while until i kept catching her claw the corner of our bed! i discovered a time where she can be a decent kitty... seems to be that her best mood is in the morning... then she sleeps most of the day... then when daddy gets home, she acts up.... and he laughs and thinks it's cute as i am fuming over the trouble she is making...

wow... a month went by?

my apologies for not keeping up to date... of course i was on vacation... and then my vacation got somewhat extended because since we were flying stand- by, we kept getting bumped off flights... of course i had no arguments... but it was a waste of half a day and tiring to keep going back and forth to the airport...

then upon returning home, i hurt my left shoulder... went to the doctor and he said it seemed that i had shoulder tendinitis... so i was out of commission for a while... and actually, it still kind of hurts=o(...

let's see... prada is still the same... she's one year and one month old... and still a ball of fire... kolohe has been more sneaky... he lost some weight while i was gone so he's more agile now... which is a good thing i guess...

we were debating on getting a cat tree... but since my parents moved to hawaii, we inherited furniture and the cats have been having fun jumping on that...

they are also still trying to sneak outside...
