how can people do such things?

this sweet little puppy was found by my husband's cousin and her family... they found her in a dumpster.... seems as if someone dumped her in there...

they're looking for a home for her.... they would like to keep her but they have a 12 year old hard- headed husky who's used to being an "only child"... they're hoping he'll change... the kids are already in love with her...

how can you not be? she's so adorable... shame on the ones who dumped her like she was trash...

who needs athletic fields? is biking and hiking there not enough exercise? one of the things that i enjoy about this area is seeing the wildlife...

a year ago...

a year ago, in early november, we had to put our beloved akita, yoshi, to sleep...

i was not ready for another animal to join the family... i thought it would be a while...

a year ago to this date, we had a naughty kitty enter our lives...

funny... has it only been a year? it seems like a lifetime with her antics! maybe that's why she is extra cranky today.... she's celebrating her one year of torture...

i know... i'm being dramatic...

life would be somewhat boring if we didn't have her... the little devil that is prada...

another rude awakening...

good ol' daddy let you know who in the bedroom again this morning... and can you guess what happened? clawing my corner of the bed again... i got up, clapped my hands, and she just stared at me as she happily clawed away... grrrr...

we had doggie visitors today... my son's father got a new puppy... a dalmation/ beagle mix... pretty cute puppy... prada didn't want anything to do with him though... she was hiding in the garage and whenever the doggies peeked in, she would extend her paw out to swat at them... i closed the door, but not all the way... i guess she could still sense them by the door, so she would throw her weight to pop the door open just so she could hiss and swat... so evil...

kolohe and prada were having major fights tonight with one another... so bad that i finally had to separate them... so right now he is in our bedroom as princess brat is living it up in daddy's lap, wrapped in a blanket...

a partial rude awakening...

this morning i woke up to prada chewing on my hair... i swatted at her and tried to move away, but i guess my hair was tasty this morning... then she proceeded to claw the corners of the bed... i keep telling daddy that that is why she is not allowed in our bedroom!!

the laundry basket...

for some reason, the kitties love the laundry basket...

almost makes me want to go vegan...

sad... utterly sad... i'm 1/4 chinese and am ashamed... i wonder how they fried the fish with it still being alive... so cruel...

i guess from her previous article, she has received a lot of hate mail... here she defends herself... i don't know if i agree with her sources... from my previous experience with working with kitties who have been declawed, they were more mean and difficult to work with...

ohana...

if you've seen lilo and stitch, we were all touched by the moment when stitch says, "ohana means family".... of course our beloved pets are ohana...

so why am i so irritated with them today?!? i guess like regular family members, our animals can kind of get on our nerves from time to time...

this past week i lost almost half a roll of toilet paper thanks to paper shredding prada...

i caught her peeing in the bathroom sink again... i only noticed because kolohe was standing outside of the bathroom staring inside looking like, wtf?

kolohe has been driving me insane with his "starving kitty" antics... he was bugging me like there was no tomorrow and would sit right in my face or right on top of my laptop as i was trying to use it... and then meow meow meow... in his pitiful voice...

prada was all over the kitchen counters, sink, and stove... licking whatever crumbs she could find... it annoyed me so much, she spent a time out in the garage...

then over the weekend, all they did was chase each other and fight... granted one night they were very hungry because i napped through their dinner time... so their fighting included running and jumping on and over me...

gotta love them though...

the pink bed...

when we first got prada, i bought her a small doggie bed because she liked to sleep in things so much and she was kind of outgrowing the kitty condos... she would sleep in it all day long...


kolohe has never liked to lay in beds and never went into the kitty condos... i think he mainly never went into the kitty condo due to the fact that he's too big... i guess one day he decided to see what it was like to sit in the bed... and ever since, it's his daily routine to lay in the bed all day... and when he's not asleep, he's staring out the window... the pictures below are from when he first decided to try the bed... you can tell that he's a rookie at it and didn't quite know how to fit in it... he is a now a pro and curls up happily in it...


it's kind of funny that he enjoys the pink bed... prada has not touched her bed since kolohe claimed it as his... when she sits in the window, she tries to fit as much as her potbelly will allow, and try not to touch the bed... stubborn she is...

what's been going on...

rare moments when kolohe and prada get along... that's usually when they're looking out the window together or out the door like here... i thought it was funny that their heads are positioned the same in both pictures... i think they were watching a bluejay...

prada was extra moody today.... in the morning she was all sweet and loving... mornings are usually when she is at her best... tonight she's a brat... we were holding the kitties close to one another and kolohe licked her ear... she tried to bite him and hissed... after that they ran around and fought with each other... sometimes their fights are really bad and i have to separate them... and of course it's prada who eggs on the fights...

last night we had salmon for dinner... the kitties were acting as if we were their best friends... of course they won tiny slivers of salmon... for some reason prada felt that she had the privilege to jump up onto the table and over my plate of food! i yelled at her and she jumped back over my plate and onto the floor... that was a first for all of us... she is also still into the weird habit of growling, swatting, and hissing at us as we offer her food... so weird...

we put everything away after dinner but good ol' daddy left the foil with salmon fat and grease on the stove... for some reason he thought prada would leave it alone.... HA!! So, we're watching tv and i hear a thump... i yell at daddy to get his brat because i knew she was on the stove... he sat there with a smirk... i got up and tiptoed to the kitchen... there she was, not even phased that i was there, licking away at orange grease... i grabbed her and took her to daddy.... all he could do was laugh because she had an orange mouth... should've taken a picture but i was lazy to get the camera...

banning cat declawing...

some of the cities in the state of california would like to ban cat declawing for it is cruel... i agree that it is cruel, but i'm not so sure it should be banned... prada drives me crazy with her toes in everything and i'm really sad about all the holes and scratches my leather couch has... but i wouldn't subject her to having her claws cut off.... however, the person that wrote this article kind of has a good point as well too...

starving kitties...

or so you would think... the diet is supposed to be 5/8ths of a cup that is free fed through out the day for kolohe with a 1/4th of wet food mixed with dry for dinner... he is on a special diet for his urinary tract... prada should be getting 1/2 of a cup free fed through out the day, but her food never gets measured out... probably why she looks like a pot belly piglet...

why does it always seem that they are hungry?!? prada is sort of a natural scrounger... eating whatever crumbs she can find... but everytime we get up to go to the kitchen, she runs to the garage door thinking we're going to feed her... she's forever on the counters and in the sink, trying to find food...

kolohe right now is at 14 lbs. and the doctor said that's okay... he could lose a pound or two...

today he was driving me insane... i gave him all of his food and he was still hungry! he was giving me his sad meow, informing me that he was hungry! when he's hungry he really bugs too... he will also give small love bites to let you know how hungry he is... we finally just dumped food in his bowl and he actually ate it all... so today's total was maybe 1 and 1/2 cups... he also had some treats...

dinner time is horrendous too... partly our fault because we'll give small table scraps... they hang around us... little kitty heads pop up at the table... sometimes it's so bad we have to lock them up... usually they get fed the same time we eat dinner so they're not as much as nuisance...

just drives me crazy that the way they act, you'd think they were starving!

i thought i previously read that our beloved pets would be safe from this.... i guess not... kind of scary...

daddy's naughty brat...

also daddy's spoiled brat.... prada is up to her weird antics again... the other day she pooped in the sink... the litter box is cleaned daily... what, does she want us to clean it hourly for her? brat...

she has been daddy's palsy walsy lately... as you may know, she's not really a cuddly kitty for she is still somewhat feral and doesn't like to be touched or held so much... but lately she's been cuddling with daddy... i guess that's when you know that the weather is getting colder... she's looking for heat...

so for the first time she slept in the bed with us... kolohe was mad... he usually sleeps with me and lets me use him as a pillow... prada was right in the middle, hogging the bed and blanket.... so i had the joy of freezing my butt off til about five in the morning when she woke up and left...

she also ate a spider the other day as well...

as i'm pulling my hair out over her, daddy smiles, laughs, and spoils her even more....

happy belated halloween...

got the kitties simple costumes, for this was the first year i dressed up kolohe and the first for prada as with every thing else in her life so far...

kolohe had a bandana with skulls on it... we laughed because you could barely see it on him... he's just too bushy... he was very good about wearing it... didn't mind it at all... well... partially didn't mind... i like the expression on his face... heehee...

prada on the other hand, wasn't too happy... i was surprised that i was able to get on her jester collar in the first place... she ran around all wild and was wrestling with herself, trying to get it off... heehee... it was funny to watch her... she even hid from me when i was trying to get a picture of her... here she is with her "stink eye" stare...
then she got tired of running around for a brief moment, so i took it as a photo op...
